THE WHEELS ARE COMING OFF.

The reason I purchased the Bold a short while ago was to enable me to get email & I really like the keypad.

I had looked at this forum & read a lot of the comments etc before buying: However reading some of the things

on here I figured you were mostly all a lot of  whiz kids downloading this & that, linking it to your PC etc etc..no wonder you were all having a load of problems. All I wanted was a mobile phone plus email. I have not and do not intend to download or change anything in the phone.

Here we are couple of months in......

The Bold keeps dropping calls.

The screen freezes, does not respond to any key. ( Good job I read about removing the battery for a while.)

Sometimes it will not let me dial out .

Twice it got really hot & the battery discharged very quickly.

IT IS ONLY A PHONE, ISN,T IT : or is it that full of stuff I will never use that it cannot cope ?

No -- it is not only a phone. It is a tiny computer that happens to also do cellular telephony. As such, it is prone to all the issues that all computers are prone to. Memory Leaks. The need to reboot regularly. The need to update the OS so that flaws can be fixed and new features introduced. Etc. Etc. Etc.

It is not just a phone. It is a mobile computer.

Re: THE WHEELS ARE COMING OFF.

I was being sarcastic when I said its only a phone.  I know what it is & I have read what it can ( supposed to be able to) do.

The point I was making is that I only want my Bold to do the basic things...

make & take calls, connect to handsfree device when mobile, send & rec email. Take the odd picture etc. The technology for these tasks has been with us for years, yet here I am ( and many other users as well ) strugling to get the Bold to do  these simple things RELIABLY

DAY IN DAY OUT.  My own experience &  reading the posts on here suggests it needs to be a lot more reliable... if that means being less

sophisticated... I know which I would choose.
