Text Message Symbols

When I text and the message is sending there is usually a symbol that looks like a wifi signal next to my recipients name. Then the message is done sending and a check mark appears. But today there was a red clock like symbol with the hands at 12 and 3. What does that mean?

Re: Text Message Symbols

That red clock means it's waiting or pending -- not sent.

Does this eventually turn to a checkmark as a sent message? if not, do a simple reboot:

With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot.

Re: Text Message Symbols

Thank you. I didn't have enough power to reboot. But when I did, it worked. But there is a simpler way to reboot. You don't have to take out the battery for a few seconds. You can click the left alt button the right caps button and then the del button and this also reboots it.

Absolutely, you can reboot that way.

But, know that ALWAYS a soft reboot (using the keyboard) isn't the same as a good ol' battery pull reboot.

The battery pull reboot will clear additional cache and sometimes reset some network connections that a soft reboot does not.

Even RIM differentiates between the two as being different.

Either way, it worked for you, great.
