The lights are on but the screen isnt.

The screen isn't working.  The lights on the keyboard work and the notification light flashes but nothing is happening on the screen.  Tried charging and taking the battery out and putting back in bit hasn't worked.  It has been working fine up until now.

Re: The lights are on but the screen isnt.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

I recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:

  • KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode

It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.

If it won't go into Safe Mode and the screen remains dark, then it's possible that it's a hardware problem, for which no amount of advice we can give will be useful...only a qualified hardware technician with the device in their hands can provide a proper diagnosis if that is the case.

If you want, however, there are some more drastic things you can try:

Again, though, those won't be of any use if the problem is the hardware itself.

Good luck and let us know!
