I just got the same message. Just after I updated the BB desktop software - not sure if that's actually the whole cause, but it worked fine the last time I used it. Hope someone has a solution.....

Yes same for me. I updated my software the same day I changed from my old BB curve 8520 to my new BB curve 9360.
I was not sure if it was the software or the new phone.
It is very frustrating as I keep my work calendar on the phone and at the moment I am unable to use it.
Would be very grateful if anyone can help with this.

OK...RIM seriously needs to address this issue. They've had a couple of months to figure it out. I found the knowledgebase article ( http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB31858 ) and it still says they're researching it.
My Outlook sync worked perfectly with my previous version of the desktop software (v 6.?). I then upgraded after it told me to (no more automatically searching for updates for me) and now it can't load my previous organizer data modules and it turns the sync of organizer data off. Frustrating...made especially more so because I can't find anywhere on the web to download a previous v6.? of the software. If I could, I would just roll it back.
Hey RIM...at least make the previous version of the software availabe until you figure this out!!

Yes they are the messages that also come up on my screen.
I agree it would by nice to be able to downgrade to the old software
THE ONE THAT WORKS!!!!!

Steps I followed to get my installation working again.
- While the faulty installation was running, I selected "forget device" in the Device menu.
- Performed a complete BB desktop software uninstall, including user settings. (A reboot is necessary)
- Downloaded a new copy of the 7.1 BB desktop software.
- Installed the software, reconfigured organizer synchronization and everything is working fine now.
