I am unable to download blackberry messenger as it is 'unable for my device' I have a blackberry curve 9300 and I don't understand why it isn't working! Please help

Problem: Cannot download BBM 7.0.1
Tried everything - wiped phone, deleted and reinstalled BBM 6.2, downloaded with and without SIM card (over WiFi), to no avail. According to the BlackBerry site, all you need is OS 5+ (check), 5 Mb of free memory (check) and data plan (I have BIS, so - check). The site also tells me I should stick with 6.2 if I am in India or some other countries down there, which I am not. So technically I should be Ok.
The likely remaining reason is that I am in Russia. Does anyone here know if BBM 7 is available for Russian BlackBerry users, and if not what is the estimtated time it will be available in this country?

Carrier says BBM is not officially provided in Russia, so they cannot support it. Indeed, if you buy a phone from Russian carriers, it won't have BBM (though nothing prevents you from removing IT policy and enabling the app, or buying a phone with BBM at the grey market). Never mind, I sideloaded BBM 7 from a Web site, and now have updated to BBM 8 beta (with Channels).
