i used all my resources in trying to solve my
i have bought a Blackberry Torch 9800 from at&t from about a month now. i
have been travelling alot. but the thing is that i have used the device
literally for 5 days. after that all of a sudden the device stopped working
and it has been shutting off and turning on all by itself. it never got
bumped or been exposed to any liquid or anything whatsoever... since i'm a
frequent traveller i have unlocked it with a code issued from at&T SO THAT I
CAN USE DIFFERENT SIM cards with it. now theyre telling me that my warranty
is void and they refused to accept the device for fixing or exchanging..
i've been a loyal customer for Blackberry but what happened with my Torch
really made me chancge my mind and i really am unhappy with it. i hope there r any
solutions for this!
i've been trying to contact RIM directly and wasnt successful!

Ouch, that's a common policy among carriers, having the device unlocked for use with another service provider voids the warranty.
Do you still have an ATT account, at all? If so, I'd recommend putting your ATT SIM back in, call them and don't mention anything about having it unlocked.
But yea, the bad news is that your seller, in this case ATT, provides the warranty support.
To get to RIM, you have to through ATT and have your issue escalated up to a RIM level tech.
Back to your device... What is your Operating System loaded to your device?
Look at Options > About, third line down beginning with a "v.5.x.xxx"
What is yours?
Have you tried a simple reboot? With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot.

The OS on it is 126.96.36.199
I have tried everything.. it turns off by its self. and actually when i give it a slight bump on the side it works again normally for sometime. but normally it keeps shutting down and does nothing.
