FYI, if you are having the blackberry ID issue, check whether your data plan still shows on your account (log in to account online or call carrier help desk).  Apparently the renewal application for ATT has changed.  What happened to me was that we made no changes to our plan 700m, unl data, 1500 texts, just upgraded the phones.  Yet when purchase location, BestBuy, sent info to ATT, there was a checkbox indicating changes to the phones, data plan and texting plan, when no info was added under these boxes the data and texting were shut off by ATT.  This seems to be a frequent issue due to increased activity with new phones available and distracted salespeople.

 

So before you do anything else, check to see if your data plan is correct.  I spent lots of time undoing all of my transfer of data to my new Torch to try to fix the problem.  Maybe this will save you some time.

The verdict is.... 

 

AT&T botched the transfer of the BB ID to the new device.  By not using the email setup wizard on the handheld, and verifying internet email accounts via AT&T website we bypassed the step that puts the links the existing BB ID to the new phone.  After a pretty painless back up and factory reset, all is well.  It took about an hour, but it was worth it.  Plus, David,  the RIM support specialist, was pleasant to deal with.  I'm pleased with the way RIM handled it.  Still not pleased with the way AT&T handled it.

I have a similar issue on my 9800....

 

I have logged in on my desktop using the BB ID, but no succes in doing so in "My World"  (AppWorls) via the handset.

Comes with following messag : " An error has occured. Please try again later."

 

Resultantly, can't download any upgrades or applications to the phone.

 

Any advise?

Thanks a million Xandrex, took me a few seconds to reset the time etc. It's Working 100%, can't believe such a simple workaround sorted out this issue -I've been struggling with it for days!
