Torch 9810-blackberry ID verification

I am using torch 9810. Have already got a blackberry ID and can use it on my laptop. However when setting up emails or using any apps the password cannot be used to login. It gives the message " Unable to login tp your BlackBerry ID account". Have also changed the password and tried but does not work on the phone

Hi and welcome to the forums!

Try re-registering your device with out Wi-fi enabled, this will verify your mobile data connection can access the Blackberry infrastructure correctly. I suggest a hard reset (battery pull) before you start.

The first link solves the problem, the second link explains where I learned to spell "BlackBerry Infrastructure."

Thanks,

KB28212 "Unable to login to your BlackBerry ID account" or "Unable to update your BlackBerry ID account information" error occurs on a BlackBerry smartphone running BlackBerry 7

Workaround

"Note: Before performing any of the below workarounds, ensure the BlackBerry® smartphone has mobile data connectivity by completing the following:

  • Turn off the Wi-Fi connection.
  • Register the BlackBerry® smartphone on the wireless network and ensure the registration message is received. For information on performing the registration, see KB00510.
  • Send a PIN message from the affected BlackBerry® smartphone to itself to confirm data connectivity. For more information on how to obtain the smartphone PIN or how to send a PIN message, refer to the BlackBerry®smartphones user guide which can be found here."

KB20055 BlackBerry smartphone does not authenticate to the BlackBerry Infrastructure over Wi-Fi when there is no wireless data coverage

Hey BillJ,

You beat me!

I type real slow and those big words take a while.

I'm gonna try that new cut and paste thing I read about in Windows '95 I've got to get around to upgrading my PC.
