Torch 9810 error 80002 after updating App World

Hey after I updated Blackberry App World to 7.0, it prompted me to update my blackberry I.D, and I recieved error 80002. It said that there wasn't a compatible version of Blackberry I.D. for the newest app world. You would think that if RIM sent me an update for app world, it would also have the proper update for blackberry I.D. Are there any downgrades available so I can make this go away? Or, is there anything I can do to keep App World 7.0?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Here are KBs that discuss very similar errors:

  • KB29613 The error "BlackBerry Identity installation failed. Please try again later. (80003)" is displayed within BlackBerry App World
  • KB29501 "Error installing BlackBerry Identity, please try again later" when trying to install an update for BlackBerry Identity in BlackBerry App World.
  • KB29300 "A BlackBerry Identity update is needed" message appears when launching BlackBerry App World 3.1

Hopefully they contain something useful! There also are multiple existing threads on this site that discuss that exact error...your review of those might prove useful, and a search of this site, using the error message, error code, or symptom, should reveal all applicable existing threads to you.

I just re-installed 7.1.0.946 through desktop manager, and it works fine. I think trying to download BBM 7.0.0.128 messed it up. I'll keep BBM 6.2 for now

Quite probably...there are tons of reports here with issues updating BBM.

But, to clarify -- there is no such thing as AppWorld 7.0, as your first post states. So, I am not at all clear about exactly what you've installed, updated, ignored, etc...for the benefit of future community members, would you mind clarifying exactly what happened and exactly what you did to recover?

yea sorry, I mixed it up. It was app world 4.0.0.65.
