Torch Apps

Have had my torch for over 2 years now and am fed up with Blackberry. Tried downloading an app for the first time and spent 2 hours trying to get a lousy battery boost app. Still no progress. Maybe im an old man at 47 but the site to me is not user friendly. There are no 1 800 numbers for tech support from what i can see ,only forums . Easy out for blackberry. Now i see why BB is and was and will be either bought out at some point or end up in the dith on the TSX. Never thought i would consider an I phone or Android in the next 2 months.

BlackBerry has a contract with your carrier to supply support.  If you have an issue, you call your carrier and they resolve it for you, either by fixing the problem, escalating you to BlackBerry technical support or by repairing or replacing your phone.  How is that an "easy out for BlackBerry"?  It's the same support model as with your car; you visit the local dealer, not the factory that produced the car.

If you have any specific issues you'd like us to have a go at, let us know.  Cheers.  Smiley Happy

Re: Torch Apps

Something you don't know

The next update to BB10 includes JellyBean (aka 4.1.2)

Personally I've had both versions of the Torch - nice gear

One of my friends described the Z10 as the best phone he's ever had

I agreed - until I got the Q10 (I like keyboard)

You're not the only 'old man' - I'm 50 (check my bio - no lies)

What you need to do, I think, is say what you want rather than you don't

Even at my age I am more than happy with BB

Tell us what you want - not why you find fault

I will relay your concerns to ;the powers that be'

Re: Torch Apps

And just like a car dealer ... When its time to change you go with a better quality device . Similar Bill as to when I sold my dodge ram Laramie and switched to a much more reliable Toyota Tundra Platinum......Hence a better situation till this day with no complaints . Bell or Rogers... makes no difference if the phone is junk. Apple here I come

Re: Torch Apps

Apple or Droid?

Yeah - really...

Fully supported versions...

Latest version of iOS that is in any way usable - 4.3

Latest version of Droid - 4.1

Latest version of BB - 5.0

The other markets move on and dump their old clients

BB at least support ancient OSes

This is analageous to M$ still supporting Win95

If you want BB10 - buy a device

I have it on good authority that a 10 will last for many years

Re: Torch Apps

Good luck with your Apple product when you decide to leave us, but take a quick moment to scan the iOS support forums before jumping ship. You'll see that iOS devices are not as perfect as everyone thinks.

Re: Torch Apps

I just paid a visit to their forums and I was right...you'll be no better off than you are with a BlackBerry.

Re: Torch Apps

Err - that's pinching from my stuff elsewhere in forums (not fair)

To be honest (and highly off topic) there was no good answer to that one

You could have at least liked me for keeping it out of the hands of kiddie hackers Smiley Happy

Back to Torch (something on topic)

I have loved the device for many years - it's my fave device (ever)

I now use a Z10 and DA-C (Q10 for developers) and am waiting with baited breath for a Torch in this class

Best phone ever!
