Torch not working

My blackberry Torch is only a month old, and has been very gently used and taken care of. I had been noticing my battery draining pretty quickly lately--usually having to charge every 2 or 3 days. Yesterday, my battery went dead and I partially charged it in the car, then plugged it in at home to fully charge. I left it on charge for about 3 hours. After taking it off the charge, the screen was blank but the red light at the top will blink every now and again. I have tried my battery in another phone and it is fully charged and working. And, I tried my charger on another phone and it is working too. So, what could be causing my phone to have a totally black screen and no working functionality?

Re: Torch not working

Hey amieroo,

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.

I would suggest to try reloading the device software.Have a look at the following article on how to force the detection of the BlackBerry smartphone using Application Loader to reload the OS: http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/KB10144

I hope this help.

Re: Torch not working

I'm having the same issue and can't get any type of service on the phone. It powers up manually, but the auto-on did not work this morning and the phone does not seem to allow any other type of communication (no texts, calls, emails).

Lastly, the usb cable is not being recognized by the computer; is this the phone too? I need to quickly save my data if I will need a new phone.

Is there hope?

Re: Torch not working

Thank you so much for you suggestion! I already checked with my retailer and since it was within the warranty period, they just swapped out phones for me. So, that is one way to fix it! Smiley Happy They never knew what the problem was, it just stopped working.
