Torch screen and keypad suddenly won't respond

Suddenly my touch screen AND keyboard are not responding. It has not been exposed to moisture.


Problems started yesterday.  Touch screen started working eratically, then the keyboard stopped responding.


I've done the following with no success:


1) pulled battery and rebooted (multiple times)


2) ran backup from desktop, then reloaded the current OS (was already the latest version)


3) changed batteries


4) searched support communities for other ideas



Problem is I can't type my password into the phone and it's turned off phone service so I can't get calls.  Touchpad works sporadically but only moves up and down, not side to side.


Warranty expired last June.  Ideas anyone???  I really need help!

Possibly your flex cable needs to replaced, I believe that's the cable that connects keyboard to the screen.

I doubt its expensive to repair. Flex cables are available on ebay and many other sites.
