Transfer apps.

Hi,
I bought a new BB 9380 and my old BB was 9780 so I just wanted to know that how can I a app called I'm+talk from my old BB to my new BB. I have watched many videos to transfer app from any BB to any BB through Blackberry Desktop Manager but I didn't get how to transfer one app because they all transferred all the apps.
Any suggestion plz.........reply!!

Thanks!!

Re: Transfer apps.

Hello,

IMHO it's actually better to install the app fresh to the new BB. Depending on where you obtained the app, that will either be simple or complicated (or perhaps somewhere in between!).

If you obtained the app via AppWorld, all you need do is, on your new BB, log into your existing BB ID...that will shift all of your AppWorld records from the old BB to the new one, and allow you to then reinstall the app to the new BB from AppWorld (it should be in your Uninstalled list).

  • KB17625 How to install or transfer previously purchased applications from BlackBerry App World to a BlackBerry smartphone

For more registration key information, see this KB:

  • KB18646 How to locate and enter the license key for an application purchased through BlackBerry App World

If you obtained it elsewhere, the challenge may be greater...you will need to inquire of that other place how to shift the app to the new BB. If there is any licensing or registration on the app, that is typically tied to the BB PIN, which of course will be different on the new BB...so you need to make sure that gets shifted as well so that the app can actually function on the new BB.

Of course, in any case, you need to check the compatibility of the app to your new BB and OS level...if the app developer has not ported the app to your new BB/OS, then you can't have the app on your new BB no matter what.

Good luck!
