Yea, that's a known issue for some, using the Switch Device Wizard or even backup/restore on OS6/7 devices. Happened with me and still not working correctly. It's been reported to RIM for months now, yet still no solution.
AutoText is not a part of Protect, and that too has been suggested to RIM (about a year ago).
To resolve it, you should have a backup of your old device on your PC.
Follow these instructions to restore that one AutoText database to your new device.
Article ID: KB10339 How to use BlackBerry Desktop Software to restore data to a BlackBerry smartphone from a backup file
For BlackBerry Desktop Software 6.0 and 6.1
ALSO, I have started using the third party application AutoText Backup (found in AppWorld) which distinctly backs up your AutoText database to your media card for restoration when needed.
