Trouble playing videos

Hello, 

 

I have the Blackberry 8330. I recently recorded a few videos with my phone. However, when I went to play the videos, I received an error message saying "Error Playing" "The media being played is an unsupported format." 

 

This error is truly boggling my mind. I'm not sure how  it is possible that a video that I recorded with my Blackberry can be an unsupported format on the same device that it was recorded on. 

 

Has anyone else run into this issue? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.

 

I would recommend taking the media card out and rebooting the BlackBerry smartphone. Re insert the media card again and test it.

 

If that does not work i would recommend wiping the BlackBerry smartphone. To do this we would need to back up the BlackBerry smartphone. Please open the BlackBerry Desktop Manager and connect your BlackBerry smartphone. Click on the Backup and Restore button and select Back Up. Please note the location where the backup is being saved as we will need to access it later to restore the BlackBerry smartphone.

Once backed up please follow the link below to perform a security wipe of your BlackBerry smartphone.

Test the BlackBerry smartphone and proceed with a selective restore as outlined below.
