I did a search on this problem and couldn't find an answer. All the idiots at Verizon's Tech Support could suggest was to a) pull the battery and/or b) ensure I have the most current OS. The phone is running version 5.
During a call, and sometimes when ending a call, the red light comes on solid, the phone shuts down, then constantly cycles as if booting up (shows the hour glass symbol). Yet, it never boots completely and cycles over and over (red light, etc.).
The ONLY way I've found to reboot it was following a suggestion on here. I remove the battery while it's charging and wait for the "no battery" symbol to appear. After that, it boots up and works fine...until the next call.
"The next call" is a slight exaggeration, but not much. I may be able to make/receive a few calls before it screws up again.
This is actually my fiance's phone. I'm "borrowing" it temporarily. However, it did the same thing with her. Actually, Verizon replaced her phone THREE TIMES for the same problem.
Is this thing simply a poorly designed POS for which there is no cure? Should it simply be scrapped? Since "the most current OS" obviously isn't the answer, would a downgrade to version 4 be worth the trouble? Any other thoughts, comments, or suggestions?
Thanks and pardon my pissiness.

After scanning several pages, I'll add another question to my list. Could the battery be the culprit?
Although these problems have occured with the battery status showing 3/4 to full charge, I'm wondering if these models came equipped with crappy factory batteries. A shot in the dark perhaps, but worth a try?
