I'm having an issue with the Twitter app for my Blackberry Curve 8520.
Basically I've been having problems with the app for a while now (various things not working/loading), but yesterday I received a message saying 'The request is understood, but it has been refused' when I tried to refresh my Twitter timeline. I kept getting this message, and the timeline never loaded.
I then signed out of my Twitter account and attempted to log in again. I received the same message again and am now unable to sign into my account at all.
I've re-installed the app at least three times and have done numerous restarts on my Blackberry (removing the battery so that it restarts itself), which has not fixed the issue.
This is really irritating because I use the Twitter app for my Blackberry on a regular basis. If anyone else has experienced this issue or better yet knows of a way to fix it I would be very pleased.

I'm having this exact same problem since yesterday. I don't know how to fix it. I've tried turning off phone and then taking the battery out for a few mintes, but i still get the same message. My facebook app is working just fine, so this is very puzzling and irratiting. Going on a full day with no Twitter. About to give up on this phone and switch to iphone.

I still have not recieved an answer on a fix for this problem either. It seems like some people experienced this problem after trying to update a newer version of twitter, but I myself did not even try to do an update, it just randomly started giving me this error message. Now I'm scared to even try to do an update, so for now I'm just leaving my current twitter version 126.96.36.199 on here and hoping if somehow fixes itself????? Going on a full 2 days now without twitter is very frustrating. It's still stuck on this same error message "The request is understood, but it has been refused". Please help Blackberry Support!

Thank you Knahra!!! I finally just went ahead and right clicked on my twitter app and then clicked options, then check for upgrades, then it found the newest upgrade, so I said yes to install, it then downloaded. I rebooted (turned off then on) and now it's working, but it is a newer version than my older one. Problem fixed.
