Dear BB friends and helpers!
I urgently require your help. I have seen some similar topics posted but none exactly the same as mine so I would really really appreciate if anyone can very kindly help me out.
I have a major problem on the Blackberry Bold 9900.
A few days ago I updated my Blackberry Messanger (BBM only) to BBM7. Everything was working fine.
Then last night I got a message on my phone to upgrade my operating system to OS 7 which I installed.
Then this morning I noticed that my BBM has disappeared from my phone and I can't find it.
I currently have 7.1.0 Bundle 2061
(Also note that BB App world wont give me the option to download BBM and trying to download other apps also freezes the app world)
I have already tried
1) Hard reset / battery pull
2) Doing a universal search and looking for hidden icons.
I have seen a few other similar topics but I wanted to ask what I should do... :
1) Re-install BBM7 from a link from this forum? or
2) Downgrade OS7 to OS 6 via Options - Software Updates - Downgrade?
Or any other options?
The KEY thing is that I do not lose my BBM contacts! That is the end goal of whatever is recommended. I really hope someone can help.
Many thanks in advance,

If you were using BBM 7 before you upgraded your software, then the contacts have already been synced to your BB ID.
If you were using a different version of BBM before you upgraded, then there is a chance of you loosing your contacts, otherwise NO.
If the app world freezes while installing your apps, reinstall the app world and then download BBM 7 again. As it will start up, it will ask for your BB ID and password and your contacts will be restored.
If, BBM 7 is still not installed, you can install from a link from this site too.
Or you can also install by downloading from the app world on the computer and install using Blackberry Desktop Manager.

I appreciate your very speedy response.
Yes I had already installed and updated BBM to version 7 a day or 2 before the OS upgrade.
I have just deleted and reinstalled App World but now that I have launched it, it says "App World requires the latest version of Blackberry ID." Do I 'update' this as well or 'close' it and try something else? I wanted to check with you first before I mess anything up..

How did you update the AppWorld Software?
Did you try going to Blackberry.com?
You will likely need to reboot, then update your BlackBerry ID, reboot again and I think you'll be fine from there.
Let me know...

Yes that is pretty much what I did. I found a link from Blackberry for App World directly and installed and rebooted the phone and now after launching App World it says I need to upgrade my Blackberry ID. Should I do it? Should I click 'Update'?
