When you have the BB connected to the PC and you try to see the card, does a removable drive called Blackberry come up?
Please let me know. I would suggest the following before you try it.
Pull the battery while the device is ON, replace after a minute,
let the device reboot 1-3 min, Retry the function that was the problem
Please let me know!

A removable drive called Blackberry does not come up when I connect my bb to the PC... even after following your instructions.
I have an unlocked bb, do you think that's the problem?

i've also faced this problem, then i took my BB to Local Market, they made some changes in its firmware, and after 1 min it started to work, so go to your service shop for rectification..

I have excatly the same problem with my BlackBerry Bold, which I replaced with my earlier Blackberry bold as the earlier one was rebooting regulalrly because the battery was loose. But the mass storage was working fine on it....but once I got this replacement device from the Warranty store....the mass storage is never accesable on my computer.
I spent lot of time with the AT&T customer service ,...then with Blackberry customer support...they figured that my device is bad
Overall ...my experience with AT&T customer service sucks

If you are using UNLOCKED blackberry, try this : Blackberry Curve 8320 - USB Mass Storage Problem

I had the same problem with my 9700.
I tried everything that every one had mentioned any where!!
Finally called att, got routed to BB support and they sent me a link to download a mass storage fix.
Once I installed this fix (it's actually a driver update I guess), I was able to see the card as a drive in windows 7 explorer and I was also able to use BB Media sync, both of which I wasn't able to do earlier.
The link to the KB article is here - http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB19717
Unfortunately I couldn't find this KB article before I called support - hope this helps and saves you guys a few hours on the phone with support!

Just to confirm... I tried Sri420's suggestion above... and it worked perfectly. Mass Storage Mode was re-enabled within 5 mins. Thanks for the helpful posting!
