Unable to connect to the internet

I just got a Pearl and I've got the kind that is supposed to be able to connect to WIFI. The symbol in the top right corner is bright black (meaning I am connected to the WiFi in my house) but when I try to use internet applications or use the browser application I get a message that says I am unable to connect to the internet. Any ideas or suggestions?

Re: Unable to connect to the internet

Question, you have any Blackberry data plan with your carrier? , because you need the data plan to use all the applications on the Blackberry device which ones need internet.

If I help you with any inquire, thank you for click kudos in my post.

Re: Unable to connect to the internet

I was told that the data plan I got would allow me to connect to the WiFi internet I have at my house. I can sign into MSN Messenger on my phone, but not onto the browser app.

Re: Unable to connect to the internet

At options > Advanced > Browser, set your browser to HotSpot browser.

With Wifi, you don't need a data plan to connect the browser.
