Unable to setup gmail account on my Blackberry Torch 9810.

[ Edited ]

While trying to setup Gmail inside Email Accounts, I got error message:

"Activation request failed. A service connection is unavailable."

I am very much sure that my username and password is correct, every time I got the same message.

And even I downloaded the Gmail app from "http://m.google.com", the version is 2.0.6, but it is also not working.

It starts and stuck on the loading screen.

My wifi connection working fine.

And body please help on this issue.

Re: Unable to setup gmail account on my Blackberry Torch 9810.

Yes, just yesterday I got BIS plan, and now everything works fine.

I was wrong that, I was trying to setup mail without BIS plan, because even I didn't now about that, I just purchased one blackberry after seeing it's features and tried to setup mail etc.. through my wifi & 3G connection.

But then I got to know that, for all kind of service in Blackberry I have to subscribe special BIS plan, by searching on the net and forums.

Thank by the way...

Re: Unable to setup gmail account on my Blackberry Torch 9810.

Hi
I have a 9810, and was able to set up 2 email accounts when I got it last year (Nov). It now does not allow me to set up a pop3 email and the @mobilemail... is set up no problem...
I tried to do it via the WAP on the phone, but it sets up the pop3 account and deletes the @mobilemail...
I have BB version 7, bundle 2406 (v7.0.0.585 platform 5.0.0.734.0) on the phone....

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):

1) Register HRT

  • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
  • Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app

2) Delete and Resend Service Books

  • KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
  • If you have no CMIME entry, then skip the deletion
  • KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
  • Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

3) Reboot

  • With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
  • See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.

Good luck!
