I recently purchased a Blackberry 9700. This is my first venture into the world of Blackberry's. I am trying to sync my calendar with my Blackberry using the latest Blackberry Desktop Software to no avail. I am given the error:
"There are no writable Calendars available for syncing on this computer. Please launch iCal or Microsoft Entourage and create a new writable calendar."
I am currently using Mountain Lion and there is no such program called iCal rather it has been rebranded as Calendar. I am assuming this could be part of the problem? Is it not possible to sync with Mountain Lion?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I didn't think I would hit a hurdle like this so early on.
I should mention the following solution does not work as there is no option to select "On My Mac" in step 4.: http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/viewdocume

Welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.
If you are using iCloud then the 'on my Mac' option may not be listed, try the following:
1. Disable iCloud
2. Create a new calendar on your mac. (http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/KB20342)
3. Turn iCloud back on.
Let me know if this helps.

I'm looking at the same problem.
As of the latest Mac operating system Maverick it is not even posiible for Mac users
to sync with their iPhones without using the iCloud.
Apple is steering away from the posiibelity to sync with your computer and phone, on your own, with usb or wifi.
Wants you to run all your contacts and Calendar-appointments by their iCloud servers.
On various Apple forums some privacy minded people are crying foul very loud.
There should be a both by Apple and Blackberry supported Sync program.
But if you can't even sync your iPhone by usb/wifi to your Mac it might not be possible to sync with BB . (except
Apple steeres everything in the direction of iTunes and iCloud.
If anybody has a working syncing sytem with a new iMac and recent edition Calender I'm curious, let it know.
