Unable to upgrade BlackBerry App World on Bold 9700

I'm using a BlackBerry Bold 9700 with BlackBerry OS version 5.1.0.121 and BlackBerry Device Software version 5.0.0.442.

 

When I click the existing BlackBerry App World icon on my device, I receive the following prompt:

 

"To continue using BlackBerry App World, you must upgrade your current version. For more infomration, please visit www.blackberry.com/appworld/support."

 

So, I click the Upgrade button. My BlackBerry browser then launches automatically and attempts to open the "http://appworld.blackberry.com" page. However, each time I've tried this, the page cannot load in the Black Berry browser and remains blank. I tried leaving my phone for 10-15 minute increments to allow the page to load, but after several attempts, I've never been able to open the page successfully. I always get a blank page.

 

So then, I visited the following page on my desktop computer: http://ca.blackberry.com/apps/app-world/download.html.

 

I tried the first method of sending the URL to my device, but ended up with the same result described above when I attempted to access the URL that was sent to me. The BlackBerry browser displayed a blank page.

 

I then tried the second method described on http://ca.blackberry.com/apps/app-world/download.html. I connected my device to my computer via a USB cable and clicked the Download it Today button as instructed on the page. But, when I clicked the button, I was brought to a "Mode Not Available" page that said the following:

 

"Downloads via a USB connection are not enabled for this product. Please visit our mobile download site using the browser on your BlackBerry® smartphone."

 

So, my problem is cyclical. The page that I need to access to download App World cannot load in my BlackBerry browser and I cannot download the product via USB either. This appears to be a bug and I would like to report it to Research In Motion.

 

If anyone has any advice on how to resolve this issue, it would be much appreciated.
