Hello. I have a storm 9530 and have installed several apps over the short time from when I first got it (~ 1 month ago). When I restart or reset the phone I am getting a few error messages
"Uncaught exception java.lang.illegalstateexception"
The other one is
"illegal java script error"
What does it mean?
Which application is causing it?
How do I track it down to fix it?
If there isn't a way to tell which application is causing it, how do I erase everything and start from scratch so I can add 1 app at a time and see which app triggers the errors? I have posted this question to crackberry.com and blackberryforums.com but have not had anyone respond which leads me to believe that they cannot be figured out.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide me.

Hi and welcome to the forums!
So we are your last stop hunh? Well if those places couldn't fix it....we will!
You need to have desktop manager installed and working on your Windows PC.
Basically we are going to reload the operating system
Post back and tell us what device OS you have on your phone, and what carrier you
are with. Go to options, about, and send us the OS version( 4.x.x.xxx).

Thank you so much. So my carrier is Verizon. My storm os is 22.214.171.124. My blackberry device manager is 126.96.36.199. My desk top manager version is 188.8.131.52. So I have a few applications that I have payed for, but most of the things are free apps or they are still in their trial time period. I have a few photos as well, but I can move them to my computer. I am running a toshiba laptop with windows vista home edition. Thanks again for the help Bifocals.
P.S. it may take me a few days to get back to you as this comming weekend is family event, but I'll follow your lead to get this troubleshooted.

Do you have a backup from before this error started?
If so you may want to use that to restore.
Let us know how it goes!

Good idea. Do I just start the desk top manager and preform a restore then load 1 app at a time until I find the one causing the error?

No basically we are reinstalling the core device OS of the Blackberry.
You will have to reinstall the third party applications. I would do that
first after you are done with the device OS, then restore the good backup.
The backup will contain all the data from the device.

I'll start the process and let you know if I run into problems. It will take me a few days as the family calls, but will post when I can.
Thank you once again.

Hey there Bifocals,
Thanks gain so much for the help. Sorry it has taking me a little while to get back to you (family called, fires causing evacuations, wife had a trip to leave on). So I was able to reload the OS with out any problems then started one by one loading the 3rd party applications. No problems so far. No java errors. I suspect that there was something that was installed that was causing the problem, but I have not installed it again. Don't know what it was, but I am up and running, happy to have a BB that works.
I tried to give you a kudos, but for some reason I am not allowed. Know that your help was apperciated.

I'm glad you have it fixed.
I suspect the device OS was corrupted, so you should be good to go!
Nice of you to check back in!
