Re: Unlocking your BlackBerry Guide

Where did you buy it?

Did they say it was blocked in what manner? Blocked because the device has been reported lost or stolen or what?

Re: Unlocking your BlackBerry Guide

I bought it from a friend that had it from someone i do not know if it was stolen or lost, and the thruth is that i do not have a receipt for it.

The phone work very well except the bb interenet service cannot be activated on it and my gps does not work.

When i went to my carrier and insisted that they get my bb option working they sayd that bb has blocked my pin and that is all of the information they can give so yes i am assuming that, it was blocked for one of the reasons mentioned above.

What can i do now? how do i contact bb and ask them why is my pin blocked? and how do i get it unblocked?

Re: Unlocking your BlackBerry Guide

From my experience, it's not possible to remove a device which has been placed on a blocked list.

The previous owner or mobile provider placed the device on that list for a reason, whether it was reported lost or stolen or the mobile provider might have for unpaid accounts.

Only the carrier which placed the block can remove it... not BlackBerry.

Re: Unlocking your BlackBerry Guide

Is there a way to find out who did it and why and contact them?

Re: Unlocking your BlackBerry Guide

I don't know how.. unless you know who had the device.

Re: Unlocking your BlackBerry Guide

Ok, thanks for your replay.

Here is the thing, it says unlocked, as it should, but it doesn't work.

I mean I only can make calls and text and that's it, not any BB service works on my phone.

I went to my carrier tech service and they said that the problem is that BB phones cannot be unlocked, because when you unlock them you lost BB functionality.

So, I don´t know how to make it work, I bought it already unlocked and I would really love to know if there is a way to make it work again.

My first thought was that my Pin could be banned in BB servers because of the unlock process... But I don´t really know what else to try.

I would much appreciate any help.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Unlocking your BlackBerry Guide

It is likely that your device IMEI is not registered in Movistar's database.
