Using BB Torch 9800 to link computer to internet remotely

Does the Torch 9800 have the ability to link to a computer so you can access the internet on your computer remotely?

My wife has an iPhone which does this seamlessly (they call it "Tethering"). Went to the Telus store and the sales person claimed the Torch can do this but could not find the feature. I have spent 3 hours and cannot figure it out either.

Very Frustrated

Yes, you can tether your Torch to your computer but before you do, please let me give you a word of wisdom:  Not all carriers allow tethering with all of their accounts.  In fact, with some accounts you can actually have your account suspended if tethering is against the TOS and you're caught doing it.  I'm not sure what Telus's policy is so please call them to confirm whether it's allowed.

Assuming it is allowed, plug your phone in to your PC and open BlackBerry Desktop Software.  Once your phone has connected, you should see Mobile Internet at the bottom left (but it used to be top left so it could be anywhere.....I don't have my  BDS open right now).  You'll need to enter some information in that section once you click it but that's where you set up your tethering.

I hope that helps you.  Smiley Happy
