Re: Using Storm as Tethered Modem - Ups and Downs

YES!  Verizon DOES charge 30 bucks/mo for the Mobile Broadband Connect 5GB!  I too was originally told it was included in the unlimited data plan.  Added it to my plan two months ago and was told by the customer service agent that the charge would be $15/mo and it showed up on my bill as $30.  Cancelled it today.  (Apparently it is $15 if you have some corporate BS plan, which the agent who added it to my calling plan obviously knew I did not have it).

Re: Using Storm as Tethered Modem - Ups and Downs

The truth is that initially, they told us it was free, but they lied (Verizon).

Now it's $30/month. You can use tetherberry and it's free.

Re: Using Storm as Tethered Modem - Ups and Downs

I use my Storm in Canada, but the one time I tethered my Storm, I got hit with a HUGE bill from Verizon for data use. Is there a way to tether in Canada without these huge fees? Will PdaNet or Tetherberry work? I don't want to try it, and get surprised with enormous fees.

I've heard that tetherberry works.
