Using a 2G sim card with a Curve?

Can anyone help?  I currently have a 2G sim card with Orange network in the UK and I use this with a Blackberry 8820.  I bought a Bold this weekend but the card won't work in it as the phone is a 3G one and Orange won't upgrade your simcard unless the phone was bought from them.

So I am thinking of returning it and getting the Curve as I noticed this isn't a 3G phone - does this mean my sim card will be compatible with it?  I still have 12 months left with the Orange contract which is why I don't want to take an alternative contract or get a pay as you go since I am paying £40 a month in line rental!

Re: Using a 2G sim card with a Curve?

Hi and welcome to the Blackberry Forum.

You can use the simcard on the Bold, only change the network mobile to 2g only.

Go to manage connections, mobile network options, and choose only 2g.

And for the posts i can read in the forum the 3g network in UK, is not working perfect.

If I help you with any inquire, thank you for click kudos in my post.
