Validate email account failure

I received a message to re validate my email account and password. On trying received notification this password was invalid. Tried to reset. Blackberry sent message to my device which is not receiving this message via email (as it is disabled) or BBM, why can this password reset be sent to my general email account so I can reset my Email account on my Blackberry as I don't want to spend £1:53 per minute to do something as simple as a reset
