Verizon 9550 problem

Bought an unlocked 9550 and transferred my number to the phone.  Have a good indication of 3G and all phone functions work great.  Have a Verizon/Vodafone SIM card for when I go overseas.  It has been registered with Verizon and I just have to call them to start the service.  The problem I have is the browser function is locked to Hotspot Browser.  I would like to access the browser functions while stateside.  Also, it doesnt look like the Blackberry server is being accessed.  I have switched my data plan to the unlimited international from the stateside package.  What do I need to do in order to get the browser to work on the 3G network?

If you go into Options -> Advanced Options -> Browser do you have any other options to change it to such as Internet Browser?


Do any other or your data applications work, such as Email, BlackBerry Messenger etc? 


Does you see the BlackBerry logo next to 3G (the dots) or just 3G?
