LMAO Bifocals, good move with the CEO's mail address.
About the data plan... just try this : take your SIM card and put it in any Blackberry device. It will work as a mobile phone. But it will have less features than a regular mobile phone since it will NOT allow you to go on the internet even if you have EDGE or GRPS. Applications that require a data plan can't work without a data plan.
So I guess that makes Verizon's explanation quite... I don't know. VZ-ish. I come from a country where mobile operators don't block a thing (France), so it's quite funny reading posts from US subscribers
"I can't do MMS !" "My GPS is locked !" "I have vocal notifications that tell me I'm not charged for going to my garage !"
The search box on top-right of this page is your true friend, and the public Knowledge Base too:
You can turn data services off on a 8330. You cannot purchase a BB from Verizon without a data plan. So if you turn off the data services, you will be paying for nothing. It's 29.99 for unlimited data.
