Not sure if this is in the right place, but I've had my blackberry since Feb and the battery has now got so bad I have to charge it up every 2 days. I don't have bluetooth or wi-fi enabled and believe it should still be under the 12 month warranty from Blackberry.
However, I am trying to find somewhere to contact them to try and get a new battery, but I can't find anything that deals with my problem.
Can anyone recommend who i should be getting in touch with? I tried Orange, my provider, and they said that after 6 months, it is down to Blackberry to replace the battery.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
RIM provides zero front-line support...none. All support is fronted by the carriers and authorized resellers. As such, you actually need to go through your carrier for this. I don't know if what they have told you about the battery warranty is true or not, but they nonetheless are responsible for your support. They have the ability to escalate issues into RIM if needed. But there is no "free" method for you to request support direct from RIM.

Also, as a heads up, having to charge your battery every 2 days is actually very normal. Most users get 2-3 days battery life on the Bold 9700 (actual time is dependent on usage). This is actually better than most BlackBerry devices which typically need to be charged on a daily basis (my Storm2 9550 actually sometimes needs to be topped up through the day depending on my usage levels).
I would be concerned if the battery was dying within hours, but it may just be that you've started using your BlackBerry more than you used to without realizing it, or, you may have something that uses extra battery life turned on without realizing it. It could even be due to an OS upgrade or an app. Without knowing your actual usage patterns, I cannot say that the battery is faulty for sure or not, but from what I've read here, I'm inclined to believe it's primarily a result of different usage patterns and just regular battery wear over time (which is most definitely not covered by warranty).

Thanks for the replies guys.
I didn't realise the Blackberry needed charging every couple of days, I'm obviously used to my old phones where I could go nearly a whole week without charging. I only really use Facebook and Twitter on my phone, although do access the internet sometimes. Obviously if people are having to charge their phone every day I guess I am one of the lucky ones!

Also keep in mind that unlike your old phones which were probably just phones, the BlackBerry 9700 is a sophisticated computer that can make phone calls. If you're running Facebook and Twitter on it, you've got two apps that are always on and therefore need battery power.
I, too, used to charge it about once a week but am now doing so every 2-3 days. I figure for the amount of enjoyment I get out of it, it's a small price to pay.

I guess charge during 2 - 3 days is very normally... For my case is worst, i have to charge every single day...I have only whats's app, bbm, facebook, that's all. No bluetooth and wifi. Recently, i like 3/4 of the day my phone will be gone... Try contacting the operator, but the reason they gave me, is due to what's app cos this application takes up battery life..
Anyone can help?
