Water Damage

Dear BlackBerry Support,

Some help would be much appreciated! My BlackBerry bold 9780 (I think it's the old OS version) has recently been water damaged, it fell down the loo and the water damage indicators are red.

I pulled out the battery and left it in rice for 2 days (i know should have been 4) i turned on the phone and it worked (camera, music, everything looked normal ) but eventually no keys worked so i wasn't able to navigate or type but the screen was still on and working(music, camera..)

Attempting to fix it, I redownloaded software to no avail, and even left it in rice longer. Also, (I'm with T-mobile) I and recently brought it to the shop but said i would have to buy a new phone. But i have heard from friends who managed to get a fix for water damage at an expensive price.

Any advice?

Thank you

Re: Water Damage

Replacing the motherboard, keyboard and all is an option.

It's cheaper to buy a new one.

I've dried out devices numerous times, but keeping it in the rice for 5+ days is the key.
