I have BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300 Retail India (Factory Unlocked) phone.
I am using Vodafone network without BIS/BES plan. I have generic data plan active.
So far with APN "www" without username and password, I was able to use all applications in BlackBerry except BBM.
All apps were getting access to EDGE/GPRS via www apn or by WiFi.
Since 2 days I have having issues with connectivity.
Firstly, everthing works fine. After some time, say 3-4 hours, BlackBerry does not allow connection of any app to internet via www APN or even WiFi. Only Browser works with GPRS/EDGE or WiFi.
But not any app gets access to internet.
It shows this error-
"Verify your network connections and try again" or "This program requires a working data connection. Please check your signal stength".
But Browser does work properly. Above error is also shown even when Phone is connected to WiFi.
Now in troubleshooting, I tried Turning Off and On network, turning off and on device but this does not help.
Only thing help is "Full Reboot" by battery pull or Alt+Shift+Del.
After full reboot, everything again works fine but for say 3-4 hours. Again it shows connectivity issue.
I don't think this is network issue because native Browser opens pages when that problem occurs for apps.
Also even with WiFi connected, same thing happens.
So I guess there is some issue with the device software.
I am running OS V6 on my Curve 3G.
Could it be a hardware issue ?
I also tried re-installing OS V6, problem still remains .
Please help me out !
