Why Blackberry?

Why do you even try to make "consumer" devices? If it's important to to be in the consumer space, why are you trying to charge me to talk to a tech support person? And why is your interface design so bad that your most senior interface designer would get escorted out at gunpoint by Steve Jobs if they ever stepped foot in Apple's building?

Why is the curve's media player so awful? Why did it not get the names of my MP3s correct so I get to listen to "%%%$$##@$#"  all day long? I should call tech support, oh, I forgot it will take me 30 minutes just to find the number because you hide it on your site, and then you'll charge me $60 or something for the privilege. For a consumer product, right?

I'd like to select multiple pictures to copy/delete, you might be amazed but this has been commonplace on other devices for a decades. I'd like my camera to save images to my media card, I mean I keep telling it to, but everytime I return to my camera again those pictures go right back to memory.  And i have to copy them manually back to the media card, through the awful interface, one by one. And when my zoom sticks who do I call? No one, I guess.

Your browser can't handle many web sites.  It has command keys that popup when I'm typing into a text field. You allow add on applications to hang up the interface so I can't take or recieve calls.

And now you're gonna come out with the Storm in a market where user interface design is king? Good luck with that.

Re: Why Blackberry?

Thanks fanboys. Any business that depends on a possibly unmonitored e-mail suggestion box to provide fixes for it's products has enough problems.

I'd rather just get a phone from any other provider in the future than pay my crackberry tax every month for such a poorly polished product as the curve.

Re: Why Blackberry?

Eh, if they don't monitor these boards,  why would they monitor the suggestion box? Why wouldn't they offer free support for $45 per month so they could get close to their customers and learn to improve their products?

Because they don't understand the consumer market...

Re: Why Blackberry?

Why why whyne...

You don't pay RIM $45/month. They do offer free support through your carrier, whom you do pay. Call them and ask to be kicked up to a RIM technician. Though I doubt they will do so just asking why why why.

If you have legitimate issues posed in a kind question, people here will answer them to the best of their abilibties.

If just came to moan and complain... I actually doubt you will get much response here other than the like flaming you give.

Re: Why Blackberry?

So I can't call RIM directly, my carrier won't help me, and now I can't even post my complaints on these boards? How are things every going to improve if people don't complain? Are you people zombies or do you have the flicker of ability to be critical about your favorite phone?

Re: Why Blackberry?

BTW, if I just thought the curve was a totally unfixable POS, I would dump it and post not. You understand the value of public criticism for a product, don't you? Are you suggesting I start a "Curve sucks" blog or something?
