Windows Live Messenger SMS or Data?

This has probably been asked before but does Windows Live Messenger use your data plan or SMS?

The reason I ask is that I was fairly sure it was data but after looking it up online there are mixed answers (especially regarding AT&T and I'm not sure about other carriers).

This regarding the WLM that was on my phone when I first got it (the icon was in the menu and I just had to download it).

Thanks!

Re: Windows Live Messenger SMS or Data?

Windows live is a messenger like yahoo or AIM, So I would say that it uses data just like them.

Re: Windows Live Messenger SMS or Data?

hello,

WLM uses data but ! Some carriers provide a special contract "voice + unlimited WML". Meaning voice + illimited data but restricted to WLM.
