Write memo on computer - transfer to blackberry

I am new blackberry owner  Curve 8330 Verizon

I have switched from palm to BB.

I would like to know if there is any way i can write memos and contacts on computer desktop ( like Palm os) and then sync with BB so that all date is transferred to the device? Its much easier to add things on computer and sync with device ( like most people do with Palm devices).

Whats the easiest way to transfer all contacts from old phone (motorola) to Blackberry?

PS: i do not have and use microsoft ooutlook.

Re: Write memo on computer - transfer to blackberry

unlike Palm, RIM does not provide a Blackberry application to do that.
So you need a PIM tool to write your memos and store your contacts, and then synchronize them with your Blackberry.

Microsoft Outlook does that, IBM Lotus Notes too.

for contacts, you can use GMail / Yahoo!Mail / Hotmail with an additional application do to the synchronization.
for memos, you're out of luck. But you can send yourself emails.
