And you have a blackberry data plan with your carrier?
For example if you have your line with Tmobile, you bought your device on Amazon, the device is unlocked?
If your device was activated on the ATT network (for example), the first thing you need is ATT release the pin number of your device.
Call first the person sold the phone and ask to release the pin number, after this call your carrier and ask for a blackberry Data Plan, register the device, and you are fine to setup mails and much more.
If you need something more, ask.

The error “Account suspended. Please contact your system administrator” is caused by your carrier having your account suspended. This suspension can occur for a number of reasons:
1. If you have changed from BIS to BES some carriers block any further access to BIS (others allow BIS and BES to function)
2. Some carriers have a automated "data wash" process that detects that you have a BES plan so it locks your BIS access
3. An error has occurred on the carriers\RIM system and the account has been incorrectly suspended.
All you need to do is call your carrier and request that the change your BIS account status from Suspended to Active.
