about the desktop manager and remotely wiping out data to factory settings

Can the blackberry desktop manager software remotely wipe out all data 

and reset it to factory settings ?

 

I have bb curve 8530 and I have no information on what software update exactly is the desktop manager .

 

Please help 

I lost my phone and it contained many personal information on it.

 

The thief wil soon unlock my phone and browse thru everything

Hello raeginea and welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.

 

The BlackBerry® Desktop Software does not have a remote option to delete user data from a lost BlackBerry® smartphone.

 

Did you happen to have installed and activated the BlackBerry® Protect™ app?

 

If not, it would be advised you contact your mobile network provider as well as the local authorities to report your missing device.
