adding an e-mail account

I recently changed my primary e-mail acct from AOL to GMAIL.  I wanted to change the password for AOL on my Curve 8530 and when it asked me to verify it kept telling me my password is invalid.  Tried deleting & adding AOL back ... still getting the "password invalid" message.  Extremely frustrated!  Any help is appreciated
