appWorld doesn't work on my country

Hi every body. I'm from Mozambique and I'm using Blackberry Curve 9300 with OS6. So when I try to use appWorld, it says that is not supported on my country. The problem is that I have no way to download/install an application without this. Can someone help me with this? Make appworld available in my country or other application to download apps for my blackberry...

Sorry, and if possible, tell me a whay to play youtube videos on this, cause, it only allow to play videos with Wi-Fi connection.

Thanks for the support

Re: appWorld doesn't work on my country

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!

Please check this page to ensure you meet the minimum requirements (including if it is available in your country):

If it is available in your country and you feel you meet the device-level system requirements, then contact your carrier to ensure that you meet the service plan (from them) requirements for access (via their network) to AppWorld.

Further, the latest version of AppWorld is currently accessible solely via your carrier data network -- WiFi is not used to access AppWorld under any circumstances. You must therefore subscribe to an adequate level data plan in order for AppWorld to function.

  • KB23854"A data plan is required to use this feature" sometimes appears in BlackBerry App World

Further still, do be aware that AppWorld is merely a portal, vending apps developed mainly by others. As such, it is not your exclusive procurement source -- there are others that you can try:

  • AppWorld in selected countries

  • MobiHand everywhere in the world

  • Handango everywhere in the world

  • BPlay everywhere in the world

  • GetJAR everywhere in the world

I have found that there are very few apps that are exclusive to AppWorld. You can search the on-line catalog and then search out other procurement sources, including quite often the developer website itself.

Lastly, do understand that RIM does not have unilateral control over the availability of AppWorld. Rather, a triad of entities must agree -- RIM, the wireless service provider, and the government. As the primary for-profit entity in that triad, I've always suspected that RIM is not the one who would be impeding the process.

Good luck!

Re: appWorld doesn't work on my country

Why blackberry restricts its appworld only to some countries while the big brands allow any country to use their service such as google play? I can't see the reason for restriction. NOw I have to buy another phone. That would solve issue.

@dess74 don't assume all fault is with BlackBerry on this. There are national and local laws that are probably at play, licensing agreements, and likely other factors we don't know we don't know. My assumption to start with is BlackBerry wants it's products in all markets and it isn't the one keeping it's product out of any given market.
