Re: application storage

Hey. I had a torch 9860. In my blackberry, I'd only installed screen muncher and battery watcher for additional. The rest of the application is from the blackberry itself. But why the app storage of my blackberry always decrease? I'm not installing any application and sometimes I rarely using my blackberry....

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

It could be an app with a memory leak. It could be an OS with a memory leak. It could be a faulty (hardware) device. It could be many things...all we can do is provide you with different tests to try that will start to rule in/out certain things.

The first test is to attempt to boot into Safe Mode:

  • KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode

It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, see what happens.

If the behavior ceases, then it's one of your add-on or 3rd party apps that is the problem. So, think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.

If the behavior continues even in Safe Mode, then you should compare your installed OS level to those that are presently available for your model. It is possible that a newer OS does not have this particular problem:

Good luck and let us know!
