backup problems!!

I had the white screen problem and the error 532,  I updated my device OS but I couldn't do a backup because there wasn't the able option on the software. All my information was deleted and I just really need information of my memopad. Is there a solution for that? Could I recover that information? I really need the answer!!

Re: backup problems!!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Depending on the severity of the error (I don't find a 532 in the available KBs), the data on your device may already have been wiped out before you even started the recovery steps. As such, there may well be nothing to recover from...restore always requires access to a data source from which to restore, if there is none, then there is none.

If you used your PC to recover your BB, there is a small chance that a backup was taken for you...you should search your hard drive for files with IPD or BBB extension...if any exist that were created around the time you did the recovery, then they might be useful as a source of restore.

Otherwise, you will have learned a hard lesson...backups, like insurance, are neither a reactive nor optional activity. See the link in my auto-sig on this post for instructions about good BB backup practices.

Good luck!

Re: backup problems!!

When performing this task, as there is no software on the Device to begin with and you are re-installing it. The only way you can Restore any data, is that if you backed the Device up prior to this issue had occured. Also if you had used BB Protect tand also did weekly back ups, them you could Restore from there. I would suggest making weekly or when needed Back up's of your Device for feature reference.
