backups files as .bbb on a pc instead of .ipd?

I was trying to backup my ipod so i can print some of my sms messages, but the desktop software backups the files as a .bbb, which ive heard is what it does on a mac...but im on a pc...so i dont really know whats going on here. I cant actually extract any of the messages as all the third party programs read .ipds....

anyone know how to make it backup using the proper file format? Thanks

This is the new format that the Mac has been using for a while now.

The .bbb file is essentially a compressed version of the .ipd file allowing it to take up less space.

This is the new BB backups format but you can easily recover data from your .bbb backup just using the BlackBerry Backup Extractor available for Windows and Mac too, it really works like a charm. Good luck!
