battery drains suddenly

Hi, my BB is less than 3 years old and has started 'cutting out', with sudden battery drain, at least once a day. I have replaced the battery, but the problem persists. Is this built in obsolesence, or is there a way to fix it?? Advice appreciated!

Re: battery drains suddenly

sheenaghburgess, You have your mobile phone number listed as your "My Mobile Provider" or carrier. Putting your phone number out on the internet on these public forums for the world to see, is not wise. To change that, at the top of this page click on My Settings > Personal Profile > Personal Information, and in the entry block for "Carrier" type the name of your mobile provider.

How quickly from a 100% charge does your battery drain?

Re: battery drains suddenly

thanks for the advice re ph no - I hadn't realised I'd done that! Now rectified.

The battery, from fully charged, will last less than 12 hours before it suddenly 'conks out' - this was with both the old one, and the brand new one.

Re: battery drains suddenly

12 hours of battery use on the 9780 is fairly normal.

Don't drain your battery each day to 0-10% of charge, depleting these Li-Ion batteries completely each time will kill the battery quicker, using up the 'cycles' much faster. Top off the battery when you can.

Re: battery drains suddenly

Off the things that use more battery such as :

1 ) Decrease the Brightness

2 ) When there is no use of Bluetooth turn it off

3 ) Turn off the wifi when not in use

4 ) Turn off the mobile network when not in use

5 ) Alwayz charge the phone hundred percent and then dont charge until the battery icon goes red

These all steps must improve ur BBs Battery Timings

Best ov Luck  - Try doing the above steps for a week the result must be positive

If still the problem stays i m always there Smiley Happy

That would somewhat make it useless as a phone.

Wrong, and quite frankly BAD advice. These Li-Ion batteries do not like to be discharged each cycle and doing so will certainly kill your battery faster. Li-Ion batteries have a limited number of charge/deletion cycles and doing as you're suggesting is bad advice and will cause your battery do die quicker.

Please, this is a user-to-user forum. If you don't know what your talking about, just don't. We don't need to give users bad advice.

Re: battery drains suddenly

hello,

saw this topic and desided to paste my problem here to couse its similar.

i got bol 9790 and my battery doesnt hold to.

so i bought new one and its just the same. and the interesting thing is that it drains when i dont use it. i talk alot because of my job and the battery works just fine but over the night its just depletes even if i have fully charged it before.

and what is more i got some wierd stuff on my phone and i think this is the problem Smiley Happy a while ago i downloaded couple games from appsworld while had nothing to do and since then i have couple problems:

1. if i dont use phone for some time and then unlock it theres some wierd app asking me for money and getting some stuff and so on i allways turn it of and it disapears for some time.

2. the web browser has home page is smthg called "MMMOOO best wallpapers" or like that dont really read that nonsence and i cant turn it off. launching web browser allways opens app world and i cant change home page for it or block this page not to start.

Re: battery drains suddenly

Take a complete Backup of your device and then wipe the phone ....... After wiping restore your BlackBerry with that Backup and you will get all your material back and maybe your problem may also get resolved ( Just a Advice )
