I have the same problem as you. Have you fixed yours? How?
I called my wireless provider's blackberry support and they told me that this means that the battery does not enough charge to power up the phone. I plug in the travel charger (which is verifed working) and doesn't charge it.
My blackberry is 3 months old and still in perfect phisical condition. It doesn't have a single scratch and i'm already having trouble with it.
Please let me know if you were able to fix it. Thanks.

I am having the same problem with a Curve that I am rebuilding for my wife ( I have 2 brand new batteries that are fully charged) and still get this icon. I even changed the connection in the chassis and still get it. ( both batteries work fine in my other curve)
Hopefully someone out there has a solution to this problem?

I took my device to a store and they told me it was not the battery, but the device was bad. Instead of purchasing a new one I did some troubleshooting. Turns out it looks like a software issue.
Try a soft reset by holding down Alt + Cap + Delete for about ten seconds. The device should power off. Remove the battery and then put it back in. When I did this the device rebooted and works fine now.

Hi ARHALL and welcome to the forums!
I would go to my local carrier shop and see if you can reboot with a borrowed battery, Make sure it is for your
model or series. If you can reboot, buy a battery, if not, you will have to reload the device OS. In either case I would buy a new battery.
If you need the device reload procedure, let me know.
If you reload the device OS, and the problem is not solved, you have a a hardware defect and should
return the device to the manufacturer.
This is the correct battery for the 8300 series Blackberry phones:

Have tried with all my curve batteries and nothing, when I try to do a soft reset nothing, when I connect it to my pc and try to reload the OS it does the first step but says cannot reconnect to the device upon reactivation.
Any other way to reload the OS to find out if that is the problem?

Why don't you open a new thread, as the two problems
may not indeed be solved the same way.
Also you will get more users to read your thread and more input
therefore faster resolution. I'll meet you there, OK?
P.S. I think double-tap is more "politically correct"

I had the same problem yesterday. After troubleshooting I found that the my memory card had become corrupt causing the device to fail.
I removed the memory card and performed a soft software reboot, when the unit turned off I removed the battery and put it back inn.
My curve restarted twice on its own and now its working just fine.
I ran the same test with the memory card installed and it consistently failed.
I hope this helps.
