battery too small for phone?

Hi! I need some help.

My sister has a curve (8520). She overcharged her battery, so, of course, it is swollen. We got her a new battery, which now seems to be too small for the phone. The only thing I can think of is that the phone has somehow expanded, but that seems very unlikely to me. I don't quite understand how that would have happened?

Could someone help me out with this, because I've spent twice what the phone is worth, over a period of time, trying to get it all fixed up for her, and I have neither the time nor the inclination to deal with service providers.

Thanks in advance.

Re: battery too small for phone?

First, a swollen battery doesn't mean the battery has been overcharged. It does mean it probably needs to be replaced but I've seen slightly swollen batteries work just fine.

If the new battery is "too small" then it is likely you have the wrong battery. The device didn't swell with the battery.

Re: battery too small for phone?

Thanx for replying. I was just wondering though, are there different size batteries for the 8520, because it's only slightly too small? If there are I'll be returning the one we have now and asking for the proper size.

Re: battery too small for phone?

The old battery should have a number on it. Make sure you get the same model number battery.
