Re: bb protect

BlackBerry Protect saved my day today. Make sure you set it up to do backups DAILY.  Thanks to this core BlackBerry application product, I no longer worry about losing data, or my device.

Hi and Thanks for that!

To add (if anyone cares), here's my recommended process:

Daily

  • Configure BB Protect to backup once per day, all that it can

Weekly

  • On-device -- backup BBM contacts to SD card
  • BB tethered to PC (USB)
    • Desktop Software full backup to PC
    • Manual copy of entire contents of Device and Media Card memory to PC

With that, I'm quite assured that my data is safe and available to me should I need it to restore from a catastrophic failure.

Lastly, there is an old saying:

  • There are two kinds of computing device users -- those who have lost data, and those who will

To survive the migration from the latter to the former, one must conduct regular backups. Backups are neither an optional nor a reactive activity.

Cheers!
