Re: bb storm pattern lock

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

If I recall correctly, Pattern Lock is a 3rd party app...as such, I recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:

  • KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode

It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, you should be able to remove the Pattern Lock app:

  • KB10040 How to view or remove installed applications on a BlackBerry smartphone

Further, since this is a used device, you should review this KB:

  • KB05099 Steps to take before selling or after buying a previously owned BlackBerry smartphone

Make sure your friend has properly completed ALL of the Seller steps before you try anything at all.

Good luck and let us know!

That is bad advice. Like throwing the baby out with the bath water, to reset the whole device to factory settings to only delete one bad application. Read the answer given above by sdgardne and learn yourself how this should be done.
