Re: bb working slow

Check your Options > Security > Advanced Security > Memory Cleaning.

Disable the Memory Cleaner there.

Check the number of applications running in the background, and close any not in use. While on the home screen, press the Menu key for two seconds to show the App Switcher window and close each... you will always have five basic icons there (Home, phone, messages, BBM and browser). Make sure the browser is closed and not left open on any active website.

Re: bb working slow

Sorry. I don't know what all you've previously done, therefore I take the time to answer your stated question.

So now, can you give a complete list of all installed third party apps or themes on the device?
1.
2.
3.
4.
5. Etc.

Re: bb working slow

Ok.

Will you humor me, at look at Options > Device > Application Management.

At the top, you can click to show only Third party or optional applications.

Now, what all is in that list?

Thank you, if you will, as I am trying to help you and having full information is the only way to really be effective.

Re: bb working slow

OK, then this should be relatively simple then...

Delete one of those three apps from the device (Options > Device > Applications).

Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot.

Observe if the same behavior persists, OVER a 2-3 day period.

And if it does, move on the to next application, delete, reboot, observe, etc.

Once the lap and slowness has stopped, you'll know which app it was.

If all three apps are removed and it still remains slow, you can do a more invasive backup/wipe/restore, etc., post back if you need help with that.

Re: bb working slow

I guess the problem there is with the third party messaging apps. I tried that with my BB Curve 9320. I have KIK messenger and it always slows down. What i normally do is just Clear logs and if it will not work, a simple restart will do.
When I checked logs before clearing them, theres Java out of bounds error or something on the KIK messenger. That's when I realized that its the third party messenger issue.
